Are you not tired of all the imaginary people and spectacular lives that are being constantly sold to you on major social platforms and on traditional media?
I am.
In my daily life what I observe is that people are starving for peace, faith, the ordinary bread and butter and to be fortunate enough to live clean lives that are safe and secure.
If I had to start another business of my own it would be a very simple and ordinary business which would only sell artisan crafted and curated natural products.
A little shop where everyday nurturing products would be sold straight from the land or from the hands that created them.
Flowers everywhere, a table for a conversation with my clients not shelves full of arbitrary things but instead a little order book where I would diarise and write their order in proper fashion with black ink on a white paper that would itemise what they would need for a special occasion, a normal day in their lives or a gift.
Personalised and detailed service.
Home made bread daily, salted caramel toffees, chocolate, sugar, flour, rice ( I love rice), tea, coffee, cheeses of all types ( I also love cheese), Karen’s curated wines from Cape Town and scented candles ( yes, you guessed, I love candles) oh! I almost forgot, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The orders would be delivered or collected as my clients wished.
No rush, no plastic bags just huge paper bags or baskets with their initials so that they could be used time and again.
Packaging is one of my passions. It needs to be perfect with the clients preferred colours, if possible. A Victoria sticker saying thank you call again.
People today need to feel listened to, appreciated and be confident that they are not just a source of money, as clients, they matter.
But here is the lesson, whether they buy half a kilo of basmati rice or all the ingredients for a gourmet meal the love and appreciation shown for each purchase is worth the investment of your time.
Loyalty to you and your brand brings in a lifetime of business support.
Beautiful homeware … like linen table cloths, crockery and glassware could be sourced and a small stock held just to please your senses.
