My Son was born and lives in Africa so I stay

When the orange ball of fire, the Sun, sets on the horizon against the starkness of the Savanna and the birds sing their hymns of celebration to show gratitude for a day well lived, I feel like a southern star.

The sky is now a burgundy red like this flower.

The privilege of living with an abundance of light, warmth and endless starry nights is never taken for granted.

The wildlife is simply majestic and beautiful. I love them all.

Africa is still undiscovered in so many ways.

I love elephants they are so intelligent, they grieve like us, they never forget, they love to play in the mud with water, the matriarch follows legendary paths year after year to take the herd to water.

As I write this I can see the dust in the air as they walk in formation to go and drink water at the river.

Water is healing. Water is a sacred element and in many cultures water is used to baptise us and it also symbolises divine protection and cleansing.

In our homes water is an essential part of our day. Many tribes dance when it rains. I did too one day coming back from school on a hot Mozambican day.

I love it when rainbows appear in the sky after a rainy day.

Water is magic, really.

Only recently have I studied taps and faucets as part of the ecosystem in our homes and realised how much this utilitarian product benefits our lifestyle.

Have you ever opened a tap that ran dry due to no water? I have.

In Africa these things happen and we learn to become resourceful and to respect the rhythms of nature. Harvest water when it rains. Use an outside shower with a tank of water as your source of water if you have too.

Make sure that your community and the animals have access to water.

We use water to bathe, to cleanse, to wash, to cook and to nurture everything around us. Drinking water is the elixir of life.

Water is widely used in the manufacturing of kitchen sinks. Very high standards of water treatment are required in order to protect the environment and the EU requires certification of water standards.

Recently, I visited the new beautiful showroom of Still Lifestyle at the Waterkant in Cape Town and once again I was so impressed by the quality of design offered by this Studio.
