TEA HOUSE

A home is a collection of stories

Victoria

I was born at my family’s tea plantation house in Africa.

Colonial style homes with verandas all around still fascinate me.

The interiors are a romantic mix of leather, silver trays, African animal print fabrics and linen.

Ralph Lauren cut crystal bottles bought in London in Bond Street filled with his signature Safari perfume adorn the dressing table where pearls and flowers complement the old money aesthetic.

I love everything beautiful and therefore my preference for home interiors is not just about one single story but it is instead about a collection of stories that better reflect the space, the architecture, the objects and the environment.

People and their stories is what makes a home.

Clay, limestone and linen in a pure white colour palette with a touch of a natural chic finish curated with minimalist touches that are rich in texture and detail are one of my current favourite influences.

The feeling of serenity and individuality in a place is a true reflection of restraint and elegance.

One can imagine waking up in the morning to find a special space in the house to quietly meditate about the day ahead.

Lace, satin, pearls, tassels, cream taffeta and the minimal shine of silks plus flowing curtains in muslin punctuate the mood of your rooms.
