I love the emotional and cultural life of objects and spaces
Reflections at Origin Cape Town in May 26
A herd of elephants lead by an impressive matriarch with several mischievous juveniles and grown up bulls appears on the horizon in a cloud of dust.
It is very amusing to see how they fall over their own trunks and give up standing up at all because they are intoxicated by the ripe fruit of the Marula tree also called elephant plum which they ate in large quantities.
It is not only the elephants that indulge, giraffes and monkeys do too.
It is a feast around the month of March. Visited the Bush in March.
The richness of the colour of the marula tree fruit is a beautiful natural matte textured light yellow and of course it is green when it is not ripe.
African spaces are earthy, warm, rugged, full of light and the choice of materials is so vast that South Africa is experiencing a craftsmanship renaissance.

Wood, stone tops and a soft marula green for the walls create a refined aesthetic that fits perfectly in any home.
The elevated look of the cabinetry without handles and with soft touch closing technology gives it the sophisticated appearance of a calm kitchen.
Trade Anthology is a curated journal of considered living.
This journal is not merely about aestheticising because commercially I actually move within the ecosystems of factories, craftsmanship, European and South African production, material stewardship and trade relations.
This journal will become part of a collective narrative of thoughts that curate simplicity with emotional depth.
The under-mount kitchen sink illustrates the latest design philosophy of leaving the working surface clear of clutter.
The black contrasting tap is contemporary and functional and just of the right height for the water to fall perfectly within the space of the sink. No noise, no splashing out.
All these details improve your life because these products are manufactured with intention.
The simple refinement of each space and object gives me joy.
