EQUAL NIGHT

Equinox in Latin is AEQUUS (equal) and NOX ( night)

The Cosmos gives me energy and fills me with wonder.

I never thought about how profoundly beautiful today is because today is the Vernal Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere . This Equinox was revered by many ancient civilisations and it marks the official day of Spring.

This happens twice a year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator and the length of the day and night are equal.

Here’s a poetic meditation for today’s equinox, weaving together the spring of the South and the autumn of the North into one shared rhythm:

🌗 Equinox Meditation

The Earth turns,

and in her turning

two worlds breathe in different ways.

Southward—

buds stir,

sap quickens,

light lengthens into promise.

The air carries whispers of beginnings,

a tender chorus of green.

Northward—

leaves flame,

harvests are gathered,

light leans toward shadow.

The air carries the hush of endings,

a gentle hymn of release.

Yet here, at this point of balance,

day and night are equals,

the scales steady in cosmic hands.

One hemisphere awakens,

the other remembers.

One sows, the other stores.

One dreams of what will be,

the other honors what has been.

And we—

standing between light and dark,

seed and fruit,

youth and age—

are reminded:

Life is not one season,

but the circle of them all.

Keep this meditation and reflect on the balance between dark and light.

Look at your life and create a circle of life to use the season of renewal to celebrate what was and what can be accomplished when you move forward.

Renewal for the Southern Hemisphere. Rest and harvesting for the Northern Hemisphere. Both speak of abundance.

The days grow longer in our part of the World and this is an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of every new flower budding and every tree turning into every shade of green.

The clear nights are warm and the stars shine brighter in cloudless skies.

I always think how magnificent it is that we all sleep under the same star studded sky.

We are all one.

Coconuts, blue jeans, Sun tans, hibiscus flowers and ice cream are the divine indulgences of spring and summer.

Our energy levels peak and our romantic hearts pray for an endless summer.

Use this time to renew your home and your mind.

We are barely 3 months away from the end of 2025 and I would like to inspire you to not wait for New Year resolutions whatever it is that you want to achieve do it now.

Create new places of interest in your home. Use pastel colours and natural linen.
