THE RARE ONES

Some women are made
of steel,stones,tears,dust,bones and scars.
Others are made of books, music, rainfall, stardust, moonlight, flowers, day dreams
And wild adventures
The rare ones are made of both.

Omoehi Ehixojie

You are rare.

Books are phenomenal sources of information, inspiration and knowledge.

I get myself lost in books because I am a seeker of knowledge.

Here are some that made a difference in my life.

Atomic Habits

The book Atomic Habits” by James Clear is fascinating.

In Atomic Habits, Clear emphasizes the power of 1% improvements—small, consistent changes that compound over time to create remarkable results. His core message is:

“Habits are the compound interest of self-improvement.”

By focusing on making tiny, incremental improvements each day, you can build powerful habits and achieve long-term success. The idea is that small changes, repeated consistently, lead to significant transformation.

The Little Prince

He falls in love with the golden sands of the desert and takes care of a rose.

The most important message of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is:

“What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

This quote captures the heart of the book’s philosophy: the most meaningful things in life—like love, friendship, trust, and inner truth—cannot be seen or measured, only felt with the heart.

The story, though simple on the surface, is a deep reflection on how adults often lose sight of what truly matters, becoming caught up in materialism, logic, and superficial concerns. Through the eyes of the Little Prince, the book reminds readers to stay connected to their childlike wonder, emotions, and values.

Pride and Prejudice

Anna Karenina

The third one is difficult to choose because I love Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen when she was age 20-21 and Anna Karenina by the Russian Author Leo Tolstoy written in 1878.

If you haven’t seen the movie Anna Karenina with Keira Knightley and the tragic affair with Count Vronsky please do. It is exquisite.Directed by Joe Wright that also directed Pride and Prejudice.

Both historical romantic dramas.

Art of Possibility

But then, there is the Art of Possibility.

The book The Art of Possibility was written by Rosamund Stone Zander and Benjamin Zander.

Rosamund Stone Zander is a therapist and executive coach. Benjamin Zander is the conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra.

Together, they blend personal development, leadership, and creative thinking in the book.

I saw Benjamin Zander interpreting the message of this book by playing pieces of classical music on his piano and that was one of the most passionate explanation of the text of a book that I ever witnessed.

Romance, leadership, critical thinking, dreams, tragedies, passion and love well … you find it all in books.

I hope that your home is full of books and that you explore all the different aspects of your intellect and your creativity.

We haven’t even spoken about the Venice Biennale that is currently open with installations from various Countries.

It is not a book but it is a immersive experience that you shouldn’t miss.

Architectural masterpieces are on show.

Wear beautiful clothes to feel the magic close to your skin, invite friends for poetry readings and tea ceremonies and fall in love with words.
