The logo for the Venice Simplon Orient Express is simply exquisite.

When I traveled from Venice to London the route via the Simplon tunnel was altered to serve Zurich, Innsbruck and Verona through the Brenner pass and I spent hours looking out at the pristine countryside.

The dinning car was magnificent and the gourmet cuisine delicious.

My butler was this discreet and almost invisible young man that appeared out of nowhere to attend to my every request.

Brands need to be unforgettable and distinctive.

The carriages dated back to the 1920’s and 1930’s and my romantic mind imagined how many aristocrats and beautiful people had dressed up for dinner in their Hermes and Chanel costumes.

Most passengers carried Louis Vuitton bags and trunks.

Imagine sipping French Champagne and listening to the pianist performing beautiful music in the cocktail lounge.

Brands have personalities.

I bought a silver visiting card holder with the VSOE logo that I still treasure.

Brands tell a story and the story must be targeted to your audience.

I love brands that do not use animal fur, brands that respect the environment, brands that do not use child labour or any kind of materials that hurt communities.

Beauty without cruelty is my passion.

Recycling and respect for the Earth is imperative.

Brands that tell their stories about sustainability and that promote the revival of craftsmanship merit my praise. It is so important not to lose our heritage and culture.
