Unconditional love, surrender, believe in someone, observe the rhythm of life when it takes you to places unknown, these are all beautiful characteristics of evolving beyond what is a predicted pathway.
The romantics and the philosophers call this living in the present moment.
The year of twenty twenty four was a year of forever borrowing beliefs from the Universe when mine went missing.
There were so many highlights and yes, some lowlights in my life and the life of those that I love during this year of 2024.
I will refrain from describing every single experience as words would diminish the exquisite beauty of some moments and taint with mundane details the feelings of vulnerability and pain that I experienced.
I will toast to forever instead as my soul will never forget.
I will always be nostalgic of this magical year.
One constant was and is my absolute appreciation for beauty in everything that I see.
Roaming the Countryside of Portugal, seeing falcons at an airport in Qatar, having lunch at Olivia in Lisbon, visiting the sanctuary of Fatima, loving the delicious palmiers with doce de ovos at Segredos de Portugal, crossing the dirt road of the mighty Swartberg Pass in the Karoo to buy the best fig jam, walking to the beach in Meco, witnessing the best sunrise in Doha and the best sunsets in Africa with elephants and at the sea in Cape Town… I truly can say that I believe in Unicorns.
Meeting new business leaders through the Truth Customer Academy and getting accredited in Loyalty Programs was an intellectual highlight. I want to learn more.
My small business curating kitchen sinks survived a turbulent year of political and economic turmoil. I borrowed the confidence of my business partners when mine weakened but I never gave up.
Tonight I will watch fireworks welcoming the year of 2025 in South Africa.
I feel so privileged to have had the love of so many people this year.
