AMBER IS MUCH VALUED FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE PRESENT TIME AS A GEMSTONE.
My father collected gemstones and minerals and so from a very early age I was exposed to the beauty of unpolished gemstones.
I went on to learn about the chemical composition of some and also the different forms and shapes of crystals.
My sister, Stella, did a gemology course and became a very accomplished jewelry designer of semi precious stones.
After Winter storms Amber nuggets appeared in the Baltic Sea carried by the waves and a well established trading route was created between the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean called Amber Road.
Amber is actually a resin produced by a tree.
Amber, was believed in Antiquity, to have its amazing colour because it trapped the rays of the Sun.

Beautiful writing, and so true to my soul. Your sister created an AMBER piece of jewellery that I absolutely love and grace it around my neck ever so often, especially with the current craze for all the hues of orange and earth colours. Thanks my friend for reminding me of all the beautiful things that surround me. Love Lena
