AFRICA LAND OF LEGENDS

Africa is a jealous mistress my father used to say.

What this actually meant is that once you visit the African Continent you will be so in love with the diversity of its people, the flora and fauna, the mountains, deserts and seas that you will want to come back time and time again. Let us not forget the majestic Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and the animal paradise that the Okavango Delta in Botswana, is.

I am so pleased that South Africa is now out of the red list for travel which means that we can go overseas and that you are allowed to visit South Africa. provided that you have your vaccine passports in place and meet all the protocols.

The game reserves are truly excited to be able to host you again. We have now experienced the first rainfall of this season and so the Impalas will be giving birth to their young very soon. Their babies are fragile and beautiful just like Bamby in a Walt Disney movie, but they do stand on their wobbly legs soon after birth in order to follow their mother and stay safe from predators. Awesome, isn’t it?

Cooking by the fire in Africa is legendary.

Once again the ritual of preparing food is at the centre of our rural kitchens.

Good wine paired with meat or fish barbecued to perfection on an open fire is simply the best way to eat in the Bush.

Melted marshmallows on the fire, dipped in chocolate ganache, are just so delicious!

Romance is very much alive and well in the Bush. When you stare at the stars at night without the noise or the excessive luminosity of the city you feel as One with the World. Make sure you look gorgeous but don’t use perfume because the animals in the Bush are very sensitive to strange scents.

Infinity pools, champagne on ice and soft beds covered with layers of white nets are just some of the settings that will keep you enamoured.

African drums playing in the distance calling you for a scrumptious dinner.

The Stars look so close … it is quite an extraordinary experience especially in the desert.

People go out there and collect memories instead of collecting things.

Yes, when you go back home try all the new recipes that you enjoyed in Africa, in your own urban kitchen.

We will be so pleased when you return to Africa to immerse yourself in more adventures.

Talk soon! This is Out of Africa signing off… I was born in a farm in Africa! This is true …
