I am consciousness and so, as we all live through a World that is changing, I observe the socio economic demographics that will shape the future and, therefore, I reflected on the balance between luxury and consciousness.
It is a fine balance during difficult times. Sobriety, is often a virtue.
“The word luxury originated from the Latin word ‘luxuria” which means exuberance, excess and abundance.
There is certainly an abundance of human beings on Earth and its impact on the World of Socio-Economics, can be very positive or negative.
The World in 2020, as per the ONU, had a population of close to 7.79 Billion inhabitants in March 2020.
China records a population of 1,4 billion in 2020. India, is closing up the population gap on China, in terms of inhabitants on Earth.
India, could become the most populous democratic country in the World, soon. The estimated population in India, as at 2019, was 1,366 billion, as indicated by the World Bank.
The United States of America has a population of 328,2 million as at 2019. Less people but a powerful and sophisticated economy.
The United Kingdom according to Eurostat, registered a population of 66,65 million in 2019.
Amazing numbers that make us think!
China and India are huge market places that actively export and import products. The Alibaba Group, for example, is a Chinese multinational technology company that specializes in e-commerce, retail, internet and technology. Founded by Jack Ma, the Company reported a revenue of US Dollars 72 billion in 2020. E-commerce platforms that connect suppliers and buyers are proving to be the trend to watch in this New World. China is Alibaba’s first market and India is its second largest market.
Alibaba was founded in 1999 but launched an IPO in the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) in September 2014 and since that date it has grown exponentially. Jack Ma saw the NYSE as the opportunity for a foreign company to go public and possibly the motives were: control, motion range and reputation.
Alibaba is characterized as China’s answer to Amazon.com.
I browsed kitchen sinks on Alibaba.com and the prices are seemingly attractive but do you want to buy 50 sets or 100 pieces? There are some models that offer selling 1 piece and ask you to contact the supplier. So, this is a Business to Business platform (B2B) not really a retail high end platform. Yes, of course, it does have its place in the market for sure.
But….
If you want to live in tune with your own consciousness and in perfect balance with your purchasing power and sense of luxury, the architects, designers, engineers, interior decorators, retail shops online and in bricks and mortar, are still out there ready to invest in you.
You do have choices.
