As we step into 2021, we all reflect on the year that was,2020.

A catalysis is the process of increasing the rate of a chemical reaction by adding a substance known as a catalyst. This is a term used by scientists and also widely used in manufacturing.

The year of 2020 was a catalyst that transformed our lives.

We can now rebuild our lives and businesses to adapt to new realities.

We humans were not ready for this apocalypse. The good news is that this event forced us to renew. We are actually going through a transformation that is challenging, now, but that ultimately, will serve us well.

Business Unusual will be the norm for 2021. Goal setting in the traditional sense with metrics and timelines will need to be changed into a much more intuitive model.

The role of leaders will be crucial. Influencers and inventors will think of new ways to reach the consumers and this will lead to a revolution in economics, manufacturing and technology. We have to adapt fast.

The reality is that we all will need to work diligently to offer the best value to the consumer in a time of uncertainty and scarcity.

Scarcity, in the area of social psychology, simply means that an object or commodity that is not easily available is more expensive than one that exists in abundance.

This presents us with dilemmas. Consumers will want to buy for the lowest price but the scarcity of a product or material will drive the prices up. Just look at what happened to the price of alcohol beverages and cigarettes during lockdown.

Trade Anthology is pleased to announce that at least for the first quarter of 2021 the prices of the stainless steel kitchen sinks being imported to SA from the factories that I represent, will not increase.

This is a conscious strategy to drive volume and to keep quality sinks affordable and available.

In 2021 Trade Anthology hopes to expand its B2B customer base.

The stainless steel sinks produced by the EU manufacturers are of such an exceptional quality and affordable price, that I believe that these sinks will be well received in more markets.
