Chapter 1: How much money do you need
Some decades ago—never mind how long precisely— with my three years old son and his father, I left my Country of origin with little money in my purse, to escape a civil war and came to South Africa. I love this Country so much. My heart belongs to Africa .
My mind, on the other hand, is observing what is happening in the World and also here in this beloved Country and there is something missing that is essential, safety .
Portugal offers you safety. In the Maslow Pyramid of needs, the primary needs, are food and shelter.
You can have both food and shelter in the most diverse and spectacular way in Portugal.
You will need Euros 500,000.00 in order to buy a property in a prime city in Portugal. Lisbon and Porto are the two principal cities. This amount is only a requirement if you want to apply for a Golden VIsa and become a Portuguese CItizen within 5 years.
There are other cities that offer great opportunities and these are :
Braga,Coimbra,VIla Nova de Gaia, Evora and Faro.

INFLUENCE
J.K.Rowling wrote the first book of her hugely successful Harry Potter writing and cinematic debut, at a small cafe in Porto. The amazing Porto library was eventually a set for one of her movies. She is a phenomenal influencer.
Live the Life that you are meant to live, now.
You can start by opening an account in Portugal. I can advise you on how to do it.
South Africans are legally allowed to do so.The account is a declared account and compliant with SARS. You can transfer the funds in Euros, your local bank can do that convertion for you and apply the daily rate of exchange or you transfer in ZAR and that amount in SA Rands gets converted into Euros by the bank that holds your account in Portugal.
Rates of exchange are volatile and so you need to take extra care. Your account can be opened with a mere EUR 1000,00.

INSPIRE
Living in a Country were you can live a side walk cafe lifestyle, makes you feel free and alive.
In Portugal they live the seasons fully. The summer is all about Sun and Sea. Long days with temperatures soaring to 27 degrees centigrade and high 30 degrees in some parts of the Alentejo and the Algarve. Autumn is mild and full of brown and gold tones. Winter is wet and it calls for Port Wine by the fire and delicious warm dishes. Christmas is beautiful with streets full of Christmas lights, chestnuts, tables full of the most traditional desserts and endless exchanges of presents.
Spring is stunning, all fruit trees are blossoming with a promise of new beginnings.
There is so much to do in Portugal.
I say, you have got to live it to appreciate it!
Truth be said, it’s a very accurate description of how pleasant life can be. Mostly because of its inherent and diverse culture. I second the nest egg, safety net of a home away from home.
